03-07 bose stereo in a 99-02??
Ok, So I found some cheap factory bose stereos with the center console sub from the 03-07s. Can I swap decks & add the center console sub to my 99? I know GM changed the wiring on the 03 model year, so I dont know if that would effect this swap or not. I also know I will have to swap the dash bezel out of a 03-07. Im not looking for nothing extreme sound wise, & figured this might be an easy/cheap upgrade. Im not looking to add subs in the back as I haul a lot of things in the back seat area. Just wondering if any of you guys have tried this or know if it will work before I go buy the stuff. I know it wont be the best sounding system, but I remember my 07 dmax bose system sounded pretty good for stock.

I made a post on another forum about this & it sounds like this will not work. I would like to get one of those subs that mount in the front of the full length console like the bose has though. JL Audio makes one that mounts towards the back of the console & requires you to hack up your console some & says it dramatically reduces storage. I would go with JL over Bose any day, Bose is....ok...but JL would stomp any bose system in a car.

depends on if you have the dinger in the stereo or not...open the door, turn your key and see if the ding comes from the door speakers...if not the bose unit won't work as they have that feature in the deck...better off buying a stereo and setting up what you want man...my .02

I would just like to find a small sub that will mount in the front of the console, so I dont have to give up storage space inside the console. Im not looking for nothing extreme.

I'm pretty sure JL or MTX make a pre fab loaded box for your truck....check their sites, thought about it for my chev I had but wanted somethin more.
